10 ITBP personnel injured in grenade explosion

As many as ten personnel of the ITBP were injured, two of them seriously, when a hand greande expolded during shooting practice at a firing range in this district of Haryana today. Sources said the incident happened when the 26th battalion of the ITBP, which had come from Ludhiana for training, were doing their shooting practice at Bhoond Mandalai firing range near Raipur Rani village in the district. Ten pesonnel, including an Inspector, were injured when a hand grenade exploded near the place they were standing. Two jawans Ravinder and Sanjay were seriously injured in the incident.

The injured were taken to the Naraingarh Civil hospital from where they were referred to the PGI hospital in Chandigarh.

This is the second incident of this kind in the district during this month. One ITBP jawan was killed and twelve personnel were injured in a similar incident on May two.

Earlier on March 13, three CRPF personnel were killed in a grenade explosion.
