Shoaib unlikely to feature against Deccan Chargers Kolkata | Friday, May 9 2008 IST
Pakistan's pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar's waiting to play in the IPL's T20 seems unending as coach John Buchanan was not satisfied with the fitness of ''Rawalpindi Express'' as Kolkata travels to Hyderabad tomorrow to play Deccan Chargers on Sunday. Buchanan today said Shoaib was not as fit as he was required to be for the play, meaning his sitting on bench is imminent unless some exigencies arise. Since his arrival on Monday, after an appellate tribunal of Pakistan Cricket Board suspending his 5-year-ban for the month to play in the Indian Premier Leauge, the controversial speedster was widely greeted by his teammates, particularly skipper Sourav Ganguly, and he readily mingled with both the seniors and juniors. Yesterday SonyMax interviewed Akhtar, who smilingly replied answers through microphone wishing to play as early as possible. -- (UNI) -- 09SPC2.xml
