Panchaloha idols stolen from ancient temple
Vijayawada | Friday, May 9 2008 IST

Four panchaloha idols were stolen from ancient Venkateswaraswamy temple at Adavinekkalam village in Aagiripalli Mandal of Krishna district today.

Police said the one-and-half-feet high Lord Venkateswara idol and that of his consorts Sridevei, Bhudevi and Alwar and two hundis were lifted by miscreants from the 450-year-old temple. The idols were presented by a devotee 25 years ago. However, the value and weight of the idols were not known immediately, police added.
