Police seize 25 colour dhotis meant for Lanka Rameswaram | Friday, May 9 2008 IST
Police seized twenty five colour dhotis, meant for being smuggled to Sri Lanka and arrested four persons in this connection at Susaiyappar Pattinam coastal hamlet, here today. Police sources said during a routine surveillance along the coast, a police team found four persons loading a consignment in a fishing trawler. The team immediately rounded up the gang and seized the consignment containing 25 colour dhotis meant for Sri Lanka. The four persons, Christhu Raj (34), Sandhyagu (40), John (33) and Rovans (24), hailing from the same hamlet, were arrested. Police also seized the trawlers. -- (UNI) -- 09MS51.xml
