Once again, the gullible public have been taken for a ride, this time, not by a finance company, but by 'Goldquest', a chain-marketing company, which promised gold coins for depositors.

Police had, on a number of occasions, warned the public and had even arrested those who cheated the public after promising them quick money. But the gullible public do not seem to have learnt their lesson.

This time, it was the turn of Hong Kong based 'Goldquest', a chain-marketing company to take the gullible public for a ride with fradulent business practice and cheating.

After the public, who had lost their money, lodged a complaint and thronged the City Police Commissioner's office, police arrested seven people, including Ms Pushpam, Manager of the Chennai branch of 'Goldquest' on charges of cheating the public.

After the company promised gold coins for every deposit and return of desposit for helping to enroll two additional members, many poeple showed interest in the scheme. But the company did not give even a single coin to anyone.

A police team, led by Joint Commissioner Ravi, swung into action and seized about 70 kgs of gold coins and arrested seven people.

After the arrest of Pushpam and her associates, a group of about 30 people, employed by the company as marketing executives tried to stage a protest demonstration in front of the Commissioner's office, when police arrested them also.
