HP launches limited edition 'fashionable' notebooks
New Delhi | Monday, Mar 10 2008 IST

Global IT giant Hewlett-Packard (HP) today unveiled three new limited edition notebooks with HP Imprint designs--'Verve', 'Thrive' and 'Asian Odyssey'.

'Verve' HP Imprint Finish will be available on the limited edition HP Pavilion dv2600 series Entertainment Notebook PC, while 'Thrive' will be in the dv6800 series. HP Pavilion dv2800 Artist Edition Notebook PC has the 'Asian Odyssey' HP Imprint, designed by the winner of the HP and MTV Networks 'Take Action. Make Art.' global notebook-design competition,'' said HP Personal Systems Group Senior Vice President (Global Marketing) Satjiv Chahil.

The notebooks are priced at Rs 46,990, Rs 54,990 and Rs 53,990 respectively and will be shipped over the next two weeks, he added.

He, however, declined to comment on the number of units that would be available.

The company will also launch the imprint 'Devil', though the date hasn't been announced yet.

When asked if the company plans to enter the low-cost PC segment, Mr said it already has a brand Compaq in the segment.

''HP wouldn't enter the low-cost PC range as we already have a label under the segment that deals with it,'' Mr Chahil said.

To strengthen its aggressive 'Go-to-Market' strategy, HP India also plans to expand its retail footprint across 600 cities with over 6,000 stores by the end of this year.

In line with this launch, HP India has also collaborated with fashion brand 'Shantanu & Nikhil'.

Based on inspiration from the 'Verve', 'Thrive' and 'Asian Odyssey', the designer-duo has designed an exclusive collection for Serena Williams, the company's global ambassador, which will be unveiled at the upcoming Wills India Lifestyle Fashion Week.
