VSNL, Yash Raj Films tie up for Web Premiere of Chak De India

Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL)) and Yash Raj Films have joined hands for the Web premiere of the 2007 blockbuster 'Chak De India'. The film ' is made available online in DVD quality and enables Tata Indicom Broadband customers first to view these films in an innovative format within India.

Speaking to reporters here, Director and CEO of Yashraj Flms Sanjeev Kohli said, ''Yash Raj Films through its digital strategy intends to offer consumers facility to download its full range of films through online digital from various sites, including that of Tata Indicom Broadband within India.

''Our aim is to reach our customers in every possible way through all touch points like movies, home entertainment, music and internet. The growing demand for online digital downloads of films across the globe, coupled with the emergence of new mediums to offer our movie content, makes the digital arena one of our key focus areas for future expansion,'' Mr Kohli said.

Tata Indicom Retail Business Unit President Shankar Prasad said, ''The web premiere of this blockbuster reinforces the power of the Internet, today. It is a proud moment for us to be partners in this endeavour to provide the best for our customers. This is yet, another addition to our existing portfolio of over 300 Hindi and language movies.'' VSNL offers Broadband and internet services in India and has its broadband operations in over 40 cities. It has around 500,000 Broadband and Internet subscribers and over 350 Wi-Fi hotspots across the country.
