Sun Microsystems opens learning centre in Chennai

Sun Learning Services, a division of Sun Microsystems today announced the launch of its learning centre here.

A company release here said the centre was aiming at empowering the workforce on prevalent technologies and the needs of the future.

The Company's authorised technical experts would deliver lectures and hands-on experiences, it added.

Sun's learning services comprehensive offerings enable rapid deployment of Sun's solutions for software application development, system administration, storage and lifecycle management.

This was the second such learning centre in the country after Banglore, which was opened in March this year.

The learning centre would offer training in Java and XML Technologies, Identity Management, Solaris OS Courses, Sun Java Composite Application Suit, Servers and Sun hardware Systems.

"The objective behind setting up these centres is to provide IT professionas in the country more opportunities and access to cutting edge technologies," the release said Bhaskar Pramanik, Geographically Established Market (GEM) Sun Microsystems quoted as saying.
