FIR Lodged against GPCC President and two others
Anand | March 01, 2007 2:48:03 PM IST

A FIR has been registered against Bharat Solanki, GPCC President and MP from the Anand Constituency and two others by the Anand Town police following a local court directive in this regard.

Congress activist Leelaben R Parmar had approached the Anand District Court demanding directives be issued to the police to file an FIR against the trio since the former refused to register her complaint about alleged kidnapping and murder threats on August 23, 2006.

The court had then directed the police to file an FIR against the trio and investigate the matter.

Following the court directive, police yesterday filed an FIR against GPCC President Bharat Solanki, Former President of Anand District Panchayat Bharat Parmar and another person Ramanbhai Sankarbhai Patel under section 352, 504, 506 (ii) and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

Bharat Solanki, when contacted, refused to comment on this development.

Police Inspector G N Rao of the Anand Town Police is investigating the matter.
