Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (SALE) has placed an order for 20 A320 family aircraft with an additional ten aircraft on option. SALE is the largest leasing company customer for A320 planes in the Asia-Pacific region, having already taken delivery of 51 aircraft ordered directly from Airbus. ''The A320 family has played a key role in SALE's success and this latest order reflects our continued confidence in the long-term demand for this popular product line,'' said its Chief Executive Officer Robert Martin. With more than 4,900 aircraft ordered and almost 3,000 delivered to 187 operators, the A318, A319, A320 and A321 make up the world's best-selling single-aisle aircraft family. Designed to optimise revenue through cabin adaptability and passenger comfort and featuring the most modern and complete fly-by-wire technology available on any single-aisle aircraft, they reduce direct operating cost and provide operators with a high degree of operational commonality and economy for aircraft in the 100 to 220 seat category.
