Minor raped in Hoshiarpur, another complains of assault
Hoshiarpur | December 26, 2006 7:41:11 PM IST

A minor girl was raped while three people allegedly attempted to rape another minor in a separate incident in this district, police today said.

A 13-year-old girl of Parika was allegedly raped by Parveen Chib of the same village on the evening of December 24, when she was on the way to neighbourhood shop. Parveen forcibly took her to a nearby sugarcane field and allegedly raped her.

When the girl didn't return, the parents informed the village Sarpanch and launched a search for her. She however, returned at night herself and narrated her plight.

After getting the girl medically examined, the police arrested the accused.

In another incident, a 12-year-old girl of village Ahiyapur alleged that she was forcibly taken by Mangi, Tiddi and Kalu to a plot while she was on way to tuition classes yesterday.

She further alleged that the trio tried to rape her, but she somehow managed to escape and reported the matter to her mother.

Tanda Police has registered a case under sections 376, 511, 506 and 34 of the IPC against the trio.

However, a separate FIR under sections 452, 323, 148 and 149 of the IPC has also been registered against the relatives of the victim, including her mother, by the relatives of the accused for allegedly assaulting them at their house, police said.
