Over 500 students on hunger strike in Hardoi

Over 500 students of a school today started a hunger strike demanding an immediate transfer of their principal in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh.

Alleging gross misbehaviour by his principal in black and white, Ratipal -- a class XII student at the Jawahar Navodhay Vidhyalay, did not return to his hostel since Saturday last, Additional District Magistrate V L Agarwal said.

Irked over the incident, students have started a hunger strike to demand an immediate transfer of their principal.

So far, police have not been able to trace the boy.
