Janata Dal (U) to contest 14 seats in Punjab assembly
Jalandhar | November 28, 2006 1:47:59 AM IST

The Janata Dal (United) will contest 14 seats in the assembly elections in Punjab due to be held by February next year.

A party spokesman said here today that names of 11 candidates had already been forwarded to the party high command in New Delhi while names of three more contestants would be decided soon.

He said the party would go to the polls all alone without entering into an alliance with other parties.

The party is also planning to organise a public rally in Ludhiana soon, the spokesman added.
