While Dr Subba, accompanied by some other party activists, left for the meeting, the driver and another person tried to repair the vehicle. At this juncture some miscreants pounced upon the two, beat them mercilessly and then set the vehicle afire. An FIR was lodged and a massive manhunt was on to arrest the guilty.
