Leader of Opposition Ramdas Kadam quits

Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Ramdas Kadam today submitted resignation from his post, owning responsibility for Shiv Sena's debacle in his home constituency Khed in Konkan during the current local bodies elections. Talking to UNI, Mr Kadam said Shiv Sena could only get seven seats in Khed and he had resigned taking moral responsibility for the same. Sena got seven seats in the municipal council, while Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, an of outfit of Raj Thackeray, has secured four seats apart from the support of one independent candidate, according to sources. Mr Kadam said he had sent his resignation letter to Sena chief Bal Thackeray. He had also sent the letter to Vidhan Sabha speaker Babasaheb Kupekar.
