Andhra University VC inaugurates MCL Visakhapatnam | October 11, 2006 8:11:12 PM IST
Andhra University Vice-Chancellor L Venugopal Reddy today inaugurated the Manuscript Conservation Laboratory (MCL) in V S Krishna Library in the university campus. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Reddy said the second MCL in the state after Gowthami Library in Rajahmundry, was set up under the National mission for giving conservation treatment to endangered manuscripts and training poll of specialists across the state. He said the mission envisaged the task of preparing catalogues of manuscripts, conserving manuscripts and imparting necessary technical training in manuscriptology, paleography, documentation, research and publication.
