Tamil Nadus Little MGR campaigns for the AIADMK
Madurai | May 05, 2006 2:40:25 PM IST

With just three days to go for assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Kutti (little) M.G.Ramachandran (MGR), a look-alike of the late actor-turned-politician who was worshipped by millions in the state is campaigning for the ruling AIADMK.

A staunch supporter of Amma (Jayalalaithaa), M Kamatchi, the grandmother of little MGR has taught her four-and-a half- year old grandson, Annamalai, to talk and behave like the late actor - turned - politician MGR.

People greet little MGR as he goes from door -to- door, campaigning for the AIADMK.

There is an overwhelming response from the people for Annamalai as MGR costumes suit him the most and people feel that MGR himself has come to ask votes, said M. R. M. Muthualagappan, Annamalais grandfather.

Little MGR aspires to become a doctor and has a keen interest in politics.

He is interested in becoming a doctor, but is also keen on politics. We have no objection to his joining politics and who knows, he could one day become the Chief Minister of the state, said M Kamatchi, Annamalais grandmother.

The four-and-a-half year old also loves to play with his neighbourhood friends . The boy attracted the attention of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa during her recent visit to Madurai. (ANI)
