PM to campaign for in Trichy, Chennai, on May 4 Chennai | May 04, 2006 12:37:07 PM IST
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is scheduled to address two meetings in support of the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) in Tamil Nadu tomorrow, even as the campaign gathered momentum with just five days to go for polls. Dr Singh, who will arrive at Tiruchirapalli tomorrow evening by a special aircraft from New Delhi, will address a public meeting at Uzhavar Santhai ground in Thennur. Later, he will fly to Chennai, where he is scheduled to address another public meeting at Island Ground. Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who completed one round of campaigning by addressing public meetings at Madurai and Chennai, would visit the state again on May 5, a Congress sources said. The Congress, a key DPA constituent, is contesting 48 seats. Meanwhile, tight security arrangements have been made in Tiruchirapalli and Chennai in view of the Prime Minister's visit.
