Navin Nishchol, brother move Sessions court for bail

Veteran actor Navin Nischol and his brother Pravin, who were arrested on the charge of abetting the suicide of the former's wife Geetanjali, moved a bail application before the Sessions court here today.

The bail plea of the Nischol brothes would come up for hearing tomorrow.

In their bail plea, they contended that the deceased could not bear the trauma of getting divorced and being in depression committed suicide.

The duo were arrested on April 28 and produced on the following day before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate J B Pankhe, who remanded them to police custody till May six.

Geetanjani had committed suicide at her Mahim residence on April 22.

They have been charged under sections 306 (abetting of suicide) 498-A (harassment to meet any unlawful demand) and 109 (abetment) of the IPC.
