220 candidates cleared after scrutiny in Pondy Pondicherry | April 22, 2006 10:48:35 AM IST
Nomination papers filed by over 220 candidates for the second phase Assembly elections on May 8 in the Union Territory were found in order after scrutiny.The Election Department is yet to release the final figures following a dispute at Ouppalam constituency. The last date for withdrawals is April 24. Twenty-one constituencies in Pondicherry region and six in Karaikal region go to polls on May 8 in the second phase. Mahe, Palloor and Yanam constituencies vote on May 3 in the first phase. UNI PAB AA AK BD1033
