The Hobbit's shoot delayed
Washington | December 02, 2009 12:48:02 PM IST

Shooting of 'Lord of the Rings' prequel will be delayed by a few months next year, says producer/writer Peter Jackson.

In an interview with a German website moviereporter.net, Jackson said that filming of The Hobbit would movie from March to June next year.

"We're currently working on the second script which we hope to have completed by the end of this year or beginning of next," Stuff.co.nz quoted him as saying.

"When the scripts are completed, we can begin with the exact calculation of the necessary budget. We hope to start filming in the middle of next year. However, we've received no green light from the studio yet," he added.

According to movie website TheWrap.com, sources said the film's release date would be affected.

"Executives close to the project said that Warner Brothers is now likely to release the first film at the end of 2012, and not at the end of 2011 as had been hoped for by the fans," said the sources.

"The second part would be pushed to 2013," he added.

The Hobbit will be released in two parts, with director Guillermo del Toro in Wellington. (ANI)
