Whoopi Goldberg confuses 'Lord of the Rings' wizard with Harry Potter's

Comedian Whoopi Goldberg reportedly confused the wizard from 'Lord of the Rings' with Harry Potter's.

Goldberg, 53, embarrassed Sir Ian McKellen, 70, when she interviewed him on the US TV panel show 'The View'.Are you coming back in Harry Potter?" the Daily Express quoted her as having asked McKellen.

The actor was slightly irritated but he went on to explain the difference.

"Well, if I were Michael Gambon, I might. But I don't play Dumbledore," he said.

"I play in Lord Of The Rings," he stated.

The mistake was chalked up to a distracted-looking Whoopi being "under the weather" but ever the gentleman, McKellen, professed not to mind, saying the mistake had been made before.

"One wizard's much like the rest of them," he jokingly added. (ANI)
