London | November 01, 2009 1:39:24 PM IST

Former Atomic Kitten member Kerry atona has slammed ex-husband Brian McFadden over his claim for heir children's custody.

Westlife member McFadden is currently settled in Australia with is singer fiancie Delta Goodrem.

"If he loves his kids so much, why does he live 10,000 miles way?" News of the World quoted Kerry as saying.

Also, a close friend of the singer added Kerry works hard for her hildren, while McFadden stays away.

The pal said: "It's not Brian who puts food on the table for them very day, takes them to school, does their washing, supervises heir homework, gives them baths and does all the boring jobs hat go with parenthood.

"It's Kerry who does that. It's Kerry who is there for them 52 eeks a year - and that is tough.

"Any dedicated dad would be just round the corner so that he ould see his daughters all the time - not half-way round the orld. The girls both long for more contact with their dad."

Meanwhile, McFadden recently said that Kerry prevents the kids- olly, eight, and Lilly-Sue, six - from meeting him frequently.

However, he met the children at her mother Mairead's Dublin home hen he visited Ireland for Boyzone's Stephen Gately's funeral.

McFadden said after the visit: "Having my girls back is ncredible. But I want them for months - not just a few days. erry has made things very difficult for me and it has stressed y mum out so much." (ANI)
