Hasselbeck: Obama win a victory for U.S. New York | November 06, 2008 12:01:13 AM IST
Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the lone Republican on The View, said Democrat Barack Obama's win in the U.S. presidential election was a victory for the country. Hasselbeck, a longtime panelist on the five-woman talk show, was a vocal supporter of Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin. Usmagazine.com said Hasselbeck, on Wednesday's episode of the show, discussed how she talked about the results of the election with her young daughter, who wanted to know who won and who lost. No one lost today -- and God knows I fought hard on the other side, Hasselbeck said. Today is a victory for this country. The first black president. The first black first lady. The first black family. I haven't felt this good ... When her Democratic co-host Joy Behar asked, Are you saying I was right all along? Hasselbeck smiled and gave Behar a fist bump, Usmagazine.com reported. (UPI)
