Business Kolkata riverside project on schedule: Realtor
Realty firm Riverbank Developers, which is developing a 262-acre integrated township project along the Hooghly river in joint venture with Bata India, Friday said a detailed plan to upgrade social infrastructure in the area has been prepared. "A comprehensive development plan to upgrade the overall infrastructure for Mahestala area has been prepared by urban planning institute CEPT University of Ahmedabad," Riverbank managing director Sumit Dabriwal said. The statement comes after the West Bengal government raised doubts about the developmental works promised by Riverbank, which is investing Rs.3,000 crore for constructing the Calcutta Riverside township project. Abdur Rezzak Mollah, the state's land and land reforms minister, had recently asked the company to spell out the steps it had taken to create social and public utility infrastructure. "The company was supposed to construct roads, a hospital and a school on 89 acres as part of the township project. But we got reports they are not doing much in this regard. That is why I have sought information," Mollah told reporters recently. ag/ank/dg ( 181 Words) 2009-11-06-18:29:27 (IANS)
