Corn, wheat, soy lower Tuesday

Corn and wheat traded lower Tuesday, while soybeans traded on both sides before falling late in the day. Corn was off 8 1/4 to off 9 1/4; soybeans were off 4 to up 3 1/2; wheat was off 31 3/4 to off 32 12; oats were off 9 to off 10 1/2. Corn closed sharply lower after a December corn record overnight. Wheat volume was moderate to heavy with a week of dry weather expected on the Plains. Soybean traded high, then low with rains in Brazil slowing planting there. The prices: Corn: May 5.91 1/4, 8 3/4; Jul 6.04 1/2, off 9; Sep 6.14 3/6, off 9 1/4; Dec 6.22, off 8 1/4. Soybeans: May 12.79 1/2, off 4; Jul 12.93 1/2, off 4; Aug 12.81 1/2, off 1 1/2; Sep 12.41, up 3 1/2. Wheat: May 7.94, off 32; Jul 8.08 1/2, off 32 1/2; Sep 8.23 1/4, off 31 3/4; Dec 8.41 1/4, off 32 1/4. Oats: May 3.68 1/2, off 10; Jul 3.78 3/4, off 10 1/4; Sep 3.89, off 10 1/2; Dec 4.05, off 9.
