A slide of more than $2 Tuesday to less than $116 a barrel, held through overnight trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange Wednesday morning. Crude oil prices fell 1 cent to $115.57 per barrel, as the strengthening dollar caused speculators to retreat from commodities. Heating oil prices rose 0.0052 cents to $3.2517 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline blendstock prices fell 0.0018 cents to $2.374 per gallon. Natural gas prices fell 0.053 cents to $10.789 per million British thermal units. At the pump, the national average for a gallon of unleaded gasoline in the United States rose to a record $3.617 per gallon Wednesday, from Tuesday's price of $3.607 per gallon, AAA said. (UPI)
