Can Pakistan safeguard its nuclear arsenal, asks minister
New Delhi |Wednesday, 2009 12:35:05 PM IST

India Wednesday expressed concern over the possibility of Pakistan's nuclear weapons falling into the hands of Taliban militants.

Minister for State for Defence M.M. Pallam Raju said: The internal security situation in Pakistan seems to be deteriorating every day. But how long and how far will they be able to safeguard their strategic assets like the nuclear arsenal is a matter of concern.

"We hope they (Pakistan) are taking adequate measures to safeguard their assets," Raju told reporters on the sidelines of a seminar organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
