Rs 10,000 cr.worth Rly development works in progress:Official

The General Manager, Southern Railway(SR) M S Jayanth said Rs 10,000 crore worth developmental works was in progress. Talking to newspersons here yesterday, Mr Jayanth said the work would be completed soon. Henceforth, there will not be metre gauge in Southern Railway, he added. Asked about the introduction of electrical locomotives for hauling the train services in between Villupuram and Tiruchirapalli, the official said it is nearing completion and the services would be launched before January next.
