Former Haryana Chief Minister and Congress legislator Bhajan Lal and his son Kuldeep Bishnoi, suspended Congress MP from Bhiwani, today launched a new party Haryana Janhit Congress (BL) with rising sun as its symbol.

The father-son duo unveiled the plaque marking the launch of the new outfit at a rally at Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda's hometown in the afternoon.

Mr Bishnoi, who will be the chief of the new outfit, announced that he would resign from his Lok Sabha seat on June 1 next year, after strenghthening the party organisation up to polling booth level.

Lambasting AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Mr Bishnoi alleged, ''She murdered democracy in the party by foisting Bhupinder Singh Hooda as Chief Minister of Haryana against the wishes of party MLAs and the people of the state who had voted the Congress to power in the hope that Mr Bhajan Lal would be the Chief Minister''. Claiming that Ms Gandhi had no respect for people's sentiments, Mr Bishnoi charged her with ''even questioning the existence of Lord Ram''. ''You must now decide for yourself that you want Ram or Rome'', Mr Bishnoi asked the crowds adding ''you have to choose between Sonia and Kuldeep''. Dubbing Ms Gandhi as ''power-hungry'', Mr Bishnoi alleged that she also compromised with the Left parties on the nuclear deal with the US.
