The border crossing between Afghanistan and Pakistan which was closed for four months following exchange of fire between the troops has been reopened.

The crossing was closed after Pakistani and Afghan troops exchanged fire following a dispute over construction of a gate close to the border.

The announcement of the reopening of Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan was announced on Thursday during a meeting attended by the Army's General Officer Commanding for South Waziristan, Major General Nauman Zikaria, besides others, reports The Dawn.

Zikaria said the crossing had been opened for trade and other activities with immediate effect.

The Ghulam Khan border post in North Waziristan would be reopened today. (ANI)
