India, Canada to negotiate civil nuclear agreement : PM

India and Canada have agreed to negotiate a Civil Nuclear Cooperation agreement and the whole exercise could be completed within 8-10 days, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said Here today.

The Prime Minister who had a bilateral meeting with his Canadian counterpart Stephen Harper on the sidelines of the ongoing Commonwealth Heads of Government Meet (CHOGM) here today, said the negotiation of the civil nuclear cooperation agreement is a very important step forward and a milestone for the development of India-Canada relations.

''I thank the Prime Minister from the core of my heart for having expedited this process beyond my expectations,'' Dr Singh told a small group of reporters after the meeting.
