World BDR-BSF border conference concludes in Bangladesh
A four-day Deputy Director and IG level border conference of Border Security Force (BSF) and Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) concluded in Bangladeshs eastern city of Sylhet today. They discussed various issues, including killing, arrest and abduction of innocent Bangladeshis, and construction of establishments, roads, bunkers and barbed wire fence within 150 yards of boundary line, prevention of drug smuggling, deportation of Indian nationals from Bangladesh, conducting joint survey of the disputed lands across the borders and building mutual trust. Quoting unnamed sources UNB news agency said both the sides reached a consensus to address those issues in a proper manner. They also agreed to continue cultural programs, sports and border coordination meeting between the two countries to strengthen the friendly relations. A 17-member Indian delegation was led by BSF IG SK Mishra and 13-member Bangladesh delegation by BDR Deputy Director Brig Gen M Obaidul Haque.
