Five of family killed in fire

Five members of a family, including a baby, were killed and three injured when a fire broke out in a house in Bijnor district f Uttar Pradesh, a police official said Saturday.

The dead include an aged couple and a six-month-old boy. The fire Friday night was due to a gas cylinder leak, the police said.

"Following the gas leak, a pile of wood caught fire leading to the house being engulfed in flames," Bijnor Additional Superintendent of Police Man Singh told IANS.

The injured have been taken to hospital.asit/rd/rn
