Jenna Bush marries quietly at ranch Crawford, Texas | May 11, 2008 12:01:13 AM IST
Jenna Bush, the daughter of President George Bush, and Henry Hager married Saturday in a low-key, outdoor ceremony at the presidential ranch in Texas. The couple exchanged vows in a twilight ceremony in front of a limestone cross, The Dallas Morning News reported. The Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell of Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston officiated. There were 200 guests, mostly family members and close friends. No one from Crawford was invited and the news media were strictly excluded from the ranch, although the tiny town was jammed with television trucks. Most of the details were kept under wraps. Hager's mother arranged the rehearsal dinner using an alias and the owners of The Range Restaurant in Salado learned only Thursday that they would be entertaining the president, his family and a platoon of Secret Service agents the next day. Jenna Bush Hager is a University of Texas graduate now teaching at a charter school in Washington. Hager, a member of a prominent Republican family in Virginia, is working on his master's degree to the University of Virginia business school. (UPI)
