Man forces wife to walk naked though town
Belgrade, Serbia | September 14, 2007 12:01:13 AM IST

A 30-year-old man was arrested after allegedly forcing his 29-year-old wife to walk naked through the streets of Knjazevac in southeastern Serbia.

The unidentified man allegedly forced his wife to do the stroll twice at midday Wednesday, as he walked behind her and his friend followed them in a car through the small town of Knjazevac, 125 miles southeast of Belgrade, the Serbian Blic daily reported.

The daily said unconfirmed rumors said the man suspected his wife was cheating on him and he wanted to humiliate her. The man met his wife when she went out from her office for a lunch break and reportedly forced her to enter his friend's car. The two men drove the woman outside the town and the husband told her to undress.

Constantly threatening and insulting her, the man followed her on foot and the friend in the car to her office, the Blic report said. The man placed her into the car again and forced his wife to repeat the same walk in the streets.

Passersby called police who ordered a 48-hour detention for the man, who will be handed over to an investigating judge with family violence charges, Blic said.
