Swedish teen charged for Nazi salute Trollhattan, Sweden | September 12, 2007 12:01:13 AM IST
A Swedish teenager is up on charges for allegedly performing a Nazi salute during a school music performance. The youth's salute, caught on a video phone by a classmate, came as he sang Swedish singer-songwriter Magnus Uggla's song For Kung och Fosterland, which translates roughly as For King and Country, The Local reported Tuesday. The 16-year-old's performance occurred at his school in Trollhattan, the newspaper said. Prosecutors are expected to try him on charges of agitation against a national or ethnic group. If convicted, he likely would be fined. The film will be played in court, and there's no doubt that the 16-year-old is performing a Hitler salute, prosecutor Sune Johansson told Goteborgs-Posten.
