Wayne, Coleen Rooney take baby boy Kai home
London | November 04, 2009 2:54:03 PM IST

Brit footballer Wayne Rooney and his wife Coleen have taken their newborn baby boy, Kai Wayne Rooney, home from hospital.

The Manchester United star picked up Coleen, 23, from Liverpool Women's Hospital with his dad in a silver people carrier on November 3.

The proud parents thanked staff and then, amid flowers and balloons, were driven to the home of Coleen's parents Tony and Collette in nearby Roby, where an 8ft stork was planted in the garden announcing the birth.

The white, blue and yellow sign proclaimed: "It's a boy. Kai. Born on 2 Nov 2009, 8lb 0oz."

"Wayne and Coleen jumped at the idea of staying with her parents for a while. Coleen is a family girl at heart and like any new mum she wants her own mum around," the Sun quoted a pal as saying.

"She was also concerned it wouldn't be fair for the midwife to have to come all the way to their Cheshire home after having the baby at a Liverpool hospital.

"Both families are nearby and would want to come round, so it made sense to be at her mum's.

"A lot of footballer's wives had nannies for the first few weeks, and they were recommended some names, but Coleen pulled a face at he idea," the pal added. (ANI)
