Colts' Keith arrested outside nightclub Indianapolis | May 10, 2008 12:01:13 AM IST
Indianapolis Colts running back Kenton Keith was arrested outside a nightclub on charges that include public intoxication, police said Monday. Keith, 27, was arrested early Sunday after he and others refused orders to leave the area, officers said. Other charges against the player, who is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, include disorderly conduct, resisting police officers and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, WRTV, Indianapolis reported. Any incident involving any players with law enforcement we view very seriously, and we will act accordingly, a Colts statement said. A police report said Keith, who rushed for 533 yards for the Colts last season, was in a large group gathered in the nightclub's parking lot after the establishment had closed for the night. Several people, allegedly including Keith, danced and yelled in the parking lot and refused warnings to leave the area, a police officer said. Keith told officers he would not be quiet and kept hollering he was a Colts player, the police report said. Police said Keith, who was later released from custody after posting $1,000 bond, allegedly admitted to helping an underage 19-year-old enter the club, WRTV reported. (UPI)
