The West Indies Cricket Board is likely to announce a new captain for its team on Sunday, to replace Brian Lara who retired from international cricket last week. The Board said that the squad for next month's tour of England would be finalised once the new skipper had been appointed. Lara retired from international cricket on Saturday and his vice-captain, 26-year-old Guyanese batsmen Ramnaresh Sarwan, has been widely tipped to take over, reported the Dawn. Trinidad captain Daren Ganga, who did not feature in the World Cup squad, and opening batsmen Chris Gayle have also been suggested as possible successors. WICB chief executive Bruce Aanensen said that the selectors had already put forward their nomination to the Board. (ANI)
