Umpire, referees named for World Cup semi-finals Kingston | April 23, 2007 3:15:01 PM IST
Rudi Koertzen of South Africa and Simon Taufel of Australia will umpire the first World Cup semi-final between New Zealand and Sri Lanka while Pakistan's Aleem Dar and West Indies' Steve Bucknor will do the duty in the Australia-South Africa match this week. At the first semi-final at Sabina Park, Kingston, Tuesday, Mike Procter of South Africa will be the match referee while the second semi-final, Wednesday, at the Beausejour Stadium in Gros Islet (St. Lucia) will be supervised by Jeff Crowe of New Zealand, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced here Monday. In Kingston, the TV umpire will be Daryl Harper of Australia and the fourth umpire will be Asad Rauf of Pakistan. Billy Bowden of New Zealand will be the TV umpire and Mark Benson of England the fourth umpire in Gros Islet. Appointments for the final will be made and announced in due course. (IANS)
