Sri Lanka elects to bat, go into match sans three top bowlers

Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat after deciding to rest all their three top bowlers, Lasith Malinga, Muttiah Muralitharan and Chaminda Vaas against Australia in the Super Eight league match of the World Cup here today.

Teams: Australia: A Gilchrist, M Hayden, R Ponting (Capt), M Clarke, A Symonds, M Hussey, B Hodge, G Hogg, N Bracken, S Tait, G McGrath.

Sri Lanka: U Tharanga, S Jayasuriya, D Jayawardene (Capt), K Sangakkara, C Silva, T Dilshan, R Arnold, P Maharoof, Kulasekara, C Bandara, C R Fernando.

Umpires: Aleem Dar, Billy Doctrove.
