St George's Grenada | April 11, 2007 1:47:34 AM IST

West Indies captain Brian Lara won the toss and opted to field in their do-or-die Super Eight tie of cricket World Cup against South Africa at the National Cricket Stadium here today.

South Africa made two changes from the side that lost to Bangladesh in Guyana with Loots Bosman coming in for all-rounder Justin Kemp and Andrew Hall replacing fast bowler Charl Langeveldt. Herschelle Gibbs retained his place after passing a fitness test on the left calf strain he sustained in the Bangladesh match.

The home team made three changes from the side which lost to Sri Lanka with batsmen Devon Smith and Kieron Pollard handed their first appearances of the tournament while seamer Corey Collymore came in place of fast bowler Jerome Taylor.

Jamaican batsmen Marlon Samuels was dropped along with all-rounder Dwayne Smith.

''There is moisture in the pitch and we're going to exploit that and try to put South Africa under early pressure,'' Lara sais after calling the coin correctly.

The Teams: South Africa: Graeme Smith (captain), AB de Villiers, Jacques Kallis, Herschelle Gibbs, Ashwell Prince, Loots Bosman, Mark Boucher, Shaun Pollock, Andre Nel, Andrew Hall, Makhaya Ntini West Indies: Brian Lara (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan, Chris Gayle, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Dwayne Bravo, Devon Smith, Denesh Ramdin, Kieron Pollard, Ian Bradshaw, Daren Powell, Corey Collymore.
