Pakistan's World Cup team manager records statement Lahore | April 11, 2007 1:15:27 AM IST
Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Tauqir Zia and the team manager Talat Ali Tuesday appeared before a special panel looking into Pakistan's World Cup debacle, and recorded their opinions. But immediate past PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan, who was also to appear Tuesday, asked the panel to send him questions in advance and said that he would like to discuss the matter with his successor Nasim Ashraf before meeting the panel, the PCB announced here. The PCB had formed the Performance Evaluation Committee following Pakistani team's disastrous performance in the World Cup in the West Indies last month. Inzamam-ul-Haq's side lost two of the three matches, including the one to minnows Ireland, to crash out in the first round. Former Test player Ijaz Butt heads the panel that also includes Salim Altaf and Salahuddin Ahmad, also former Test players. (IANS)
