Shooter Rajput survives World Cup elimination round New Delhi | April 07, 2007 3:15:06 PM IST
Sanjeev Rajput, who's already booked a berth for the 2008 Beijing Games, is the only Indian shooter to have survived the elimination round of the men's 50 meters rifle prone event in the World Cup at Fort Benning, US. Rajput shot a score of 591 with a series of 99,99,98,98,99 and 98 Friday and moved into the qualification round, according to a statement here. "It was very chilly at the range and I felt extremely cold, specially on my trigger finger, but I kept my focus throughout the match," Rajput said. The shooter won an Olympic quota place just two days ago in the 50m rifle three position event. (IANS)
