Former Test cricketer Rajesh Chauhan was rushed to a hospital after he sustained injuries in a road accident in Chhattisgarh late Tuesday. His condition was described as stable. The accident took place at Gundardehi in Durg district when a speeding vehicle hit the car in which the cricketer was travelling. Chauhan, a protocol officer with the state-run Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), was admitted to the ICU of the Sector-9 Hospital of the BSP, Bhilai, 30 km southwest from state capital Raipur. "Chauhan is out of danger. He probably has multiple fractures and has also received some serious bruises on his hand, leg, back and head. A team of doctors is examining his condition," a BSP official told IANS over telephone. The 41-year-old right arm off-spinner made his debut in 1993 and played 21 Tests and 35 one-day international till 1998. (IANS)
