Australia defeated the West Indies by a huge 103-run margin in the first Super Eight stage match of the World Cup at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium here Wednesday. Australia put into bat first Tuesday made 322 runs for six wickets in 50 overs. But the second innings couldn't be played due to heavy rains. In reply Wednesday, the West Indies were bowled out for 219 in 45.3 overs.
