The International Cricket Council (ICC) today left out former Indian pacer Javagal Srinath of the Match Referees panel, which will officiate in the Super Eight stage of the World Cup. The four-member Match Referees panel includes Chris Broad, Jeff Crowe, Ranjan Madugalle and Mike Procter. ICC also named nine umpires for the second stage of the tournament. Brent Bowden is the only one who does not figure in the list, which officiated in the first stage. The first match in the Super Eight stage takes place today between hosts the West Indies and defending champions Australia in Antigua. This match will be refereed by Chris Broad with Aleem Dar and Asad Rauf the on-field umpires. Third umpire will be Billy Bowden while Rudi Koertzen will be the fourth umpire. The action will then switch to Guyana on Wednesday for the game between South Africa and Sri Lanka. If the Proteas win that they then cannot be overtaken at the top of the ICC ODI Championship ladder by the crucial 1 April cut-off date. The first part of the Super Eight stage will be held in those two locations of Antigua and Guyana. On April 10 Grenada and Barbados will take over for the remainder of the stage. The semi-finals will be held in Jamaica on April 24 and at St Lucia on April 25, with the final taking place in Barbados on April 28. Appointments for those last three matches will be made later, the ICC said in a statement. Match Referees:Chris Broad, Jeff Crowe, Ranjan Madugalle and Mike Procter. Umpires:Mark Benson, Billy Bowden, Steve Bucknor, Aleem Dar, Billy Doctrove, Daryl Harper, Rudi Koertzen, Asad Rauf and Simon Taufel. (ANI)
