Eight teams confirmed for Super 8 stage Kingston | March 26, 2007 8:15:05 AM IST
Bangladesh with their seven-wicket win over Bermuda in the last Group B match of the World Cup Sunday became the eighth team to qualify for the Super Eight stage starting Tuesday. Defending champions Australia and world No. 1 South Africa have progressed to Super Eight from Group A, Sri Lanka from Group B, New Zealand from Group C, and the West Indies and minnows Ireland from Group D. England was the second team to qualify from Group C, and they did it Saturday by beating Kenya by seven wickets. Bangladesh's win over Bermuda also knocked out 1983 winners India out of the World Cup.
