Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Danesh Rana today asked officers and cops to remain alert and extra vigilant ahead of Republic Day celebrations across the state.
''It is time to remain extremely vigilant and alert during the coming Republic Day celebration,'' Mr Rana said while chairing a security review meeting ahead of Republic Day celebrations.
For the celebration to be peaceful, it is imperative to launch sustained offensive against the anti-national, anti social elements, he added.
Mr Rana advocated for various security arrangements to be made for the smooth and incident free celebration of Republic Day.
The IGP directed to ensure proper security arrangements in and around MAM Stadium, Jammu for Republic day celebrations.
It was impressed upon all the officers to ensure that elaborate security arrangements are made and all security precautions taken with regard to the graceful and successful conduct of Republic Day functions throughout Jammu Zone.
A need for coordination among sister agencies was felt in timely sharing of intelligence related information and to ensure fool-proof security arrangements for VVIP's and other participants, he added.
Mr Rana also directed the officers that the GO's and concerned ZOs and SOs deployed for Republic Day function should be directed to supervise night patrolling, strengthen nakas and launch search operations at suspected areas and other places to make the function incident free.
Meanwhile, a team of officers comprising, SSP Jammu, SSP Security and SP Traffic City Jammu, have been tasked with the responsibility of visiting the venue of Republic Day function and take security measures to secure the place, besides SP traffic has been directed to make proper traffic Police plan and to ensure uninterrupted movement of public transport and private vehicles along with smooth movement of protect persons.
